豚のところで触れたヴィシュヌ神は、シヴァ神とブラフマ神と並ぶ三大神の一つで、非常に人気の有る神様で、ヒンドゥー教の教えによれば、１０の化身となって、人間を救うとされている。すでにこれまでに９番目の仏陀となってこの世に出現したと言われる。
後は最後の化身、カルキが出現することになるわけだが、それを待ちきれずに、カルキの前に、二つの化身を入れる説が一時言われた。それは、マハトマ・ガンディとインディラ・ガンディである。今それを言う人はそんなに多くないようである。
